THE END OF AN ERA. 2 ERAS.

September 20, 2008

On September 11, 2008 The PhotoShelter Collection announced that it would be closing its virtual doors on the stock photography world for good. Any photographer involved with PSC is probably still in a state of shock because this news came out of NOWHERE!

I was asked to join PSC last year and since joining I have met some of the greatest people in the Photography Industry in NYC. You know, NICE PEOPLE. Not to mention: good, honest, hardworking, creative, inspiring, genuine… I would like to thank everyone I had a chance to work with and meet from PSC. I never sold any stock, but that doesn’t matter. I got to be involved with a unique and inspiring project, become connected with many other NYC photographers and industry insiders, and made some friends along the way. So thank you Ashley, Meagan, Rachel, and everyone else!

Because of Rachel Hulin’s SHOOT THE BLOG on PSC, I also won some tickets to see the Yankees during their FINAL Season at Yankee Stadium. (see my previous post) I went to the game on Tuesday Sept 16 with my friend Peter Van Hyning. Below are some of the photographs taken with my crappy little digital nikon, but you can tell we are sitting in $250.00 SEATS!

THANK YOU RACHEL FOR THE TICKETS!!!!!

RIP Yankee Stadium 1923 – 2008. RIP PhotoShelter Collection 2007 – 2008.

On our way into the Stadium

Our seats were very close. There’s Jeter getting ready to bat.

Jeter’s bunt attempt.

The beers were as big as my head. Almost.

Peter with his mega beer.

Our seats were padded. NICE!

The Power of the Stache. Photoshop meets Giambi.

The crowd.

Goodnight.

Vote for the FJORD Book on BLURB!

September 2, 2008

Dear Friends,

As you may know, my work is featured on little website called FJORD [ http://fjordphoto.org ]. If you are not familiar, The FJORD Collective showcases 60 or so up and coming photographers whose work is prominently featured on the internet. Eventually, the plan is to create a book to showcase these photographers and their work, thus expanding their audience and also changing the way in which their work is viewed.

I am pleased to report that FJORD is in the running for the Photography Book Now awards in which the winner gets $25,000 to complete a project of their choosing. Aside from the main contest, they have recently announced a new category, the People’s Choice Awards.

We (FJORD) are asking for your vote for the new category. The prize has yet to be announced, but we figure all of the attention we can get is good attention in regards to the publication of the FJORD book project.

Only Blurb registered users can vote and everyone gets one vote only. If you do not have an account it takes only but a minute to create one. Please vote for FJORD here:
